Various groups officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the implementation of PAGBASA: May Pag-asa sa Pagbasa at Sara-et Elementary School, marking a significant step toward strengthening literacy and numeracy efforts in the community.
The MOU signing ceremony was held on February 14, 2026, bringing together key stakeholders and partner organizations committed to advancing education in Saraet. Leading the initiative was Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc., headed by Area Coordinator Wilfred Miranda. The agreement was formally signed in partnership with Saraet Elementary School, led by Principal Ma’am Rona O. Beral, together with her co-teachers.

Also present during the signing were representatives from USWAG – Youth (Uswag Saraet-non, Wala Untat sa Asenso sa Guihapon), Saraet Small Fishermen Association headed by Aya Portia P. Gatuslao, and Project Kasikas led by Project Coordinator John Bel R. Eseller.
The collaboration highlights a united effort among educators, youth leaders, community organizations, and local associations to address learning gaps and promote inclusive education. Although some partner representatives were unable to attend the formal signing, they are expected to complete their participation by signing the MOU next week.
As PAGbASA: May Pag-asa sa Pagbasa continues to roll out its programs, early progress shows a positive trajectory. The initiative aims not only to improve literacy and numeracy rates among learners but also to foster strong and sustainable relationships among partners and stakeholders.
Through collective action and shared responsibility, the project envisions a community where every child is equipped with the foundational skills needed for lifelong learning and success.
