Thirty-five children, together with four teacher volunteers and two members of Saraet Small Fishermen Association (SASFA), participated in the second session of the PAGBASA: May Pag-asa sa Pagbasa Project on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Barangay Sara-et, Himamaylan City.

The session focused on English, Values, and Storytelling, aiming to strengthen the foundational literacy skills and character development of young learners in the community. The participating children, aged 5 to 10 years old, actively engaged in interactive lessons designed to make learning both fun and meaningful.

PAGbASA teacher volunteer Ryan Flores handled the English class, where he taught the children vowel and consonant letters and their corresponding sounds. Through guided exercises and participatory activities, Flores helped the learners improve their basic reading and phonics skills.

Meanwhile, Wilfred Miranda, Area Coordinator, led the storytelling session, sharing engaging stories filled with lessons that emphasized values and positive behavior. His approach encouraged the children to listen attentively, reflect on the stories, and participate in discussions.

The PAGbASA Project continues to provide educational support to children in Barangay Sara-et, reinforcing the importance of reading, values formation, and community involvement in nurturing young learners.
