Isabela, Negros Occidental — January 3, 2026
Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc. (HBONI) successfully conducted its third DAGYAW activity on January 3, 2026, at Don Benito Lopez Elementary School in Hda. Antolanga, Isabela, Negros Occidental, bringing together volunteers and partners in a collective effort to help restore the school.

The activity was participated in by 14 Hope Builders, together with 99.7 Brigada News FM Kabankalan, as part of a collaborative community initiative. The Neg50s team focused on cleaning, organizing, and restoring learning spaces in the school, which was heavily affected by Typhoon Tino. Through shared labor, volunteers worked hand in hand to help DBLES.

Aside from physical rehabilitation efforts, the activity also addressed the emotional and psychological needs of learners. Amat-amat and Tanom groups conducted psychosocial support sessions for the children, providing safe spaces for expression, play, and healing. These activities aimed to help students process their experiences and regain a sense of hope.

This third wave of DAGYAW reflects HBONI’s continuing commitment to community recovery and people-powered action. However, the organization emphasized that more support and partnerships are still needed to fully rebuild and rehabilitate Don Benito Lopez Elementary School.

HBONI calls on civic groups, institutions, and individuals to join future DAGYAW initiatives, underscoring that rebuilding schools and communities is a shared responsibility best achieved through collaboration.
