Days after floods submerged homes and schools in Hacienda Antolanga, Barangay Tinongan, Isabela, relief efforts intensified with Hope Builders Organization Negros Inc. (HBONI) and partner groups delivering 525 bottles of drinking water to affected families on November 7, 2025.
According to the locals, floodwaters rose so high that many houses were nearly covered up to their rooftops, leaving families scrambling to safety.
The community school, which once stood as a center of learning and hope, suffered total damage—its five classrooms destroyed along with valuable materials like televisions, printers, and teaching equipment.
Despite the efforts of rescuers and volunteers, the area’s isolation has made relief operations challenging.
With nearly 500 families affected and several residents still staying in evacuation centers, access to clean and safe drinking water remains the top concern.
“Our community has never experienced flooding this high before. This is the first time. Now, water has become our most urgent need,” shared one resident.
The joint relief effort aims not only to meet that urgent need but also to remind the community that they are not forgotten. The 525 water bottles provided much-needed relief to families who have endured days of uncertainty and thirst.
HBONI and its partners reaffirmed their commitment to continue extending help to isolated and heavily affected areas. Residents of Hacienda Antolanga cling to hope that with continued support and compassion, they can begin to rebuild their homes and their lives.
The initiative was made possible through the collaboration of several partner organizations, including: Central Philippines State University – Supreme Student Government, 100.5 CPSU Radyo Muscovado Sweet FM, Brigada News Kabankalan, Alpha Sigma Phi Organization, Brgy. Tagukon SK Council, Art Relief Mobile – Bacolod, Panyam-is, Pag-asa Youth Association of the Philippines – Inayawan, CPSU Graduate School, CPSU SAS, Frezh Water Station, CPSU CWTS, Otirasor, Marzland Boarding House, 94th Infantry Battalion, Aquaritz, and Bus Stop Café.*
