The Neighborhood-Parent Support Group (NPSG) of Barangay Aguisan celebrated its 2nd Anniversary alongside the inauguration of its new Command Center in Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental, on August 30, 2025, marking another milestone in its commitment to advancing early grade learning in the community.
The celebration gathered school and community leaders, with Aguisan Elementary School Principal, Romel Madera, and SK Chairperson Lester Mark Abkilan as special guests.
In his message, Madera expressed gratitude to NPSG Aguisan for their consistent dedication to education. “NPSG has been part of culturing the students of AES,” he said, emphasizing the group’s impact on shaping young learners.

NPSG Aguisan President Melissa Valdevia encouraged members to continue their advocacy despite the challenges of parenthood. She described the Command Center as a new venue for collaboration and growth, where parents and community members can strengthen their role in promoting responsive and inclusive education.
Representing the barangay, Barangay Secretary Annabelle Bersamin extended gratitude on behalf of Punong Barangay Benjie Tan and the entire council.
She assured the continuous support of the barangay government for NPSG’s education-related initiatives.

The event also welcomed the presence of Hope Builders Organization Negros Island (HBONI) representatives: Waren Geronca, Director for Resource Mobilization; Kathleen Optana, Youth Executive Directress; and Wilfred Miranda, Area Coordinator for Himamaylan, who expressed solidarity with NPSG’s mission.
