The Sangguniang Kabataan of Barangay Cabadiangan successfully held its Linggo ng Kabataan 2025 celebration on August 23, 2025 at Sitio Santa Cruz Plaza in Himamaylan City, gathering more than 50 young individuals for a day of inspiration, learning, and community spirit.

With the theme “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond,” the event highlighted the role of the youth in achieving sustainable development and encouraged active participation in community initiatives.

One of the most anticipated parts of the program was the keynote address delivered by Kenneth Bacala, Founder and CEO of Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc. In his speech, Bacala inspired the youth by sharing stories of grassroots leadership, and the importance of community initiatives in advancing the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“The future lies in the hands of the youth. Being young is not forever. So, while you are young, you have your time, energy, and resources, do whatever you can for the positive change of your community” Bacala emphasized.

His message reminded the participants with their sense of purpose and responsibility in community building.

The celebration concluded with the distribution of educational cash assistance by the SK Council, providing support to the youth’s education.
