Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc. (HBONI) participated in Brigada Eskwela 2025 with the theme “Sama-sama para sa Bayang Bumabasa” at Doña Gregoria Ramos Memorial School (DGRMS) on June 13, 2025, reaching more than thirty (30) young learners.

With the vision of empowering students through the written word, Arsiela Joy C. Arellano and Ma. Riza D. Carasaquit invited the organization to conduct a storytelling, promote literacy, and foster a love for reading among students.

Kathleen Optana, HBONI’s Youth Executive Directress, and Harold Matutina, a Youth Member, enchanted attendees with a captivating storytelling session.

Along with them were Leopoldo Retiro, Head for Publicity; and Reymund Titong, Communication Officer, who actively supported the initiative. Their storytelling not only entertained but also emphasized the importance of reading in personal and academic growth.

The initiative was made possible through the support of DGRMS School Head Ma’am Jewelden S. Mayan, along with the faculty and staff, PTA officers, parents, and stakeholders—united in the pursuit of enhancing educational resources.

The success of Brigada Eskwela 2025 serves as a reminder of the power of community involvement in shaping the future of our youth.

As the day concluded, the smiles on the faces of the children, faculty staff, and parents reflected the impact of this initiative, reinforcing the belief that together, we can build a brighter future through the love of reading.*
